Oh radiant glow,
What welcoming luminescent warmth!
And fortuitous this night,
That we should rendezvous.
Your sweet hum called to me,
your delightful drone lulled.
These other suitors, pests!
They drop heartbroken after but one try!
Has love's tenacity so easily lost?
Your glowing visage, irresistible.
Your beaming aura, alluring.
Increasingly inviting my hovering,
your sirensong final crescendo cracks:
The last sound of my undoing.
I gaze upon your moon one last time from the mass grave of the spurned.
