The tiger is my lunar new year zodiac animal, and I love the mythology behind it. With 2022 being the Year of the Tiger, I wanted to make something that implied a tiger's strength, serenity, and passion. Orange and black is a beautiful color combination to me, and I was looking to make some sort of print that allowed me to wear both colors without outright looking like a Halloween-themed print. This print was made using the MidJourney AI bot, and I collaged several images to make this print. I drew linework in Illustrator as well to make the design cohesive, and had fun mixing prints and colors to my liking. I imagined things like a woman morphing into a tiger, or perhaps a woman looking to wear a tiger's stripes to channel the strength of the animal. As I developed the collage, certain images popped into my head like a woman crouching in a field of tall grass, much like a tiger would use its stripes to blend into its surroundings. I wanted to make a print on a diagonal of a scarf, reminiscent of one my mother used to wear in my childhood. I generated flowers, prints, etc. and arranged them to make this image.
